This is my step-by-step guide to install a set of LED headlights into your car
Step #1
In case the vehicle's original LED bulbs begin to fail, consult your owner's handbook to establish the precise type of bulb you should use. Better still, take the old bulb to a local automotive retailer so you may easily request a replacement. You can even contact the authorized dealer for your car.
The simplest approach to switch from standard halogens to LED headlights is to purchase an conversion kit for LED. A standard kit includes 2 LED bulbs, 2 ballasts, and some wiring.
Step #2
After that, we recommend photographing your halogen headlights and comparing them to the LEDs you'll install. If you prefer the halogens, clean the in and out of their headlight cover well before reinstalling them.
Step #3
Find a wall against which you can first test the intensity and height of the stock headlight. Turn on your headlights and park the car approximately facing a wall, keeping 20-feet away from it. Mark the locations where the light strikes the wall.
Step #4
To begin the installation, ensure that your vehicle is secure: turn off the engine, remove any keys in the ignition, apply your parking brake, as well as disconnect the battery. You can also put chocks against the car's wheels to make sure it is not moving.
Step #5 Lift the car’s hood to get access to the underneath headlamp assembly via the engine compartment, and gently take out the currently fitted headlights, following the instructions in the user handbook. Find the rear of your headlight bulb to remove its connecting wire with some flathead screwdriver if you don't have a copy of the handbook.
Step #6
Then, carefully and gently spin the bulb connection to release. Then there's the metal base held together by tension wire. Press the wire down to release the base, allowing the headlight to slide out.
Step #7
Connect the ballast's connection end to the bulb’s end and any wiring in the automobile. By softly tapping on the ballasts, you can see if you've set them appropriately.
Step #8
Use double-sided tapes to secure the ballast. You may also drill screw holes for a more secure fit.
Step #9
Put the LED headlights to the test, aiming them with the markings you created earlier.
Step #10
In case you're still worried about doing it yourself, look for reliable stores that can sell as well as install the aftermarket LED.
