Guys, just got my Altima last week and been having some issues with the car.
1) The Gas pedal isn't as responsive as it should be, when you press on the pedal sometimes there's a delay the rpm doesn't go up, but after a few secs it would go up. Or when I'm in first gear to second gear at 1000 RPM pressing on the gas pedal the engine sometimes sounds as if it's going to stall or die down as if it wasn't getting enough gas, now if I rev it up to 1,500 RPM the response is a bit better. I'm thinking it could either be the Fuel Pump not supplying enough gas (realtime) - Injectors not working properly or the spark plugs being dirty not burning the fuel properly.
2) Anyways still gotta have it checked could also be the cause of the clutch pedal being sticky and not going up fast enough after releasing it - I already changed the primary clutch but its still a bit sticky any thoughts?
3) Brakes - the brakes would sometimes slide down if you press on it slowly, put when you press on it immediately the brakes would respond. Still gotta have those checked - someone told me these were self adjusting, how do I adjust these brakes?
4) Oh yeah fuel guage isn't working as well lol plus m not sure about the other instrumentation still have to get those checked. I think the odometer isn't working as well hahaha - got a lot of stuff to fix on this car - this is going to be a learning experience. Anyways checked all the fuses and fuse links and replaced some so they're all good now. But some the instrumentation panels are still not working like the gas, odometer, temperature -not sure

ok got some things fixed at banawe last saturday so here goes: 1. Non responsive gas pedal - The mechanics at Banawe checked out a couple of things first before coming to the conclusion of what the problem was. first they checked if there was gas so there was lol, next they checked the spark plugs ok they were clean, then they checked the injectors while the engine was running and removed each one to see how the car would react, ok they were working, then they checked the air intake ok the filter was clean, then they tried adjusting the timing according to them it was maxed out already. So they came to the conclusion that it as the fuel pump. So they went to the back and removed the chairs and there it was the access panel to the fuel tank so they opened it up and had a hard time removing the fuel pump after a like 45 minutes they got it out and the floater as well. They got some surplus fuel pump and put it back together again. Ok so the first one they tried was worse then what I had in my car, this time the car had trouble starting and wasn't pumping any fuel at all lol. So they removed that one and installed another one. Lo and behold the car starts and no more stuttering no more delayed reaction just pure unadulterated 1.8L of engine power wohooo! btw the fuel guage worked for a few minutes but went back to the same problem lol they told me I needed a new floater but didn't have enough cash. Anyways got the parts at Kaliraya street in Banawe with all those surplus parts cost Php 2,500 pus Php 500 labor. 2. Brakes - ok the brakes still had a problem, whats a fast car without any good brakes that would equate to trouble hehehe so I had them check the brakes as well. My initial thought was that the hydroback was the problem and this was the same problem Rapide diagnosed but they didn't have parts at the time. So they told me that I had to replace not only the hydroback but also the master for the brakes. Fine... what I had installed on the car was a single diaphragm hydroback according to them for cars that have bigger engines I should have a double diaphragm hydroback as it has more power so what the heck go ahead and install it so they took out the old one and placed a surplus double diaphragm hydroback on the car with the master as well. So now the car can brake properly - very nice! Cost Php 3500 plus Php 500 labor. 4) Fuel Guage - see entry above Well that's it for me, ran out of cash already hehehe probably be back there next payday for some other stuff I need to get fixed. New Issue - Looks like one headlight bulb is not working, I was going to adjust the headlamps last night and found out one of the bulbs wasn't lighting up, so I swapped the Bosch relays with the one that was working still no go, might be a fuse or the bulb but I'm going to do some more troubleshooting. That's it for me now. Have fun!
